I have several Hans ZAUGGs born in Bern, Switzerland. My stepgrandfather was Arnold ZAUGG (1873-1956) who was born in MO to Christoph ZAUGG and Barbara SCHAER, the youngest of five surviving to adulthood. The family immigrated 1872, finally settling in Missoula Co., MT.
We do not know where Christoph died, but it was before 1900 census in MT, where Barbara bought 320 acres and Arnie bought 160 more. They had a large dairy business for many years.
Related names are CASE, RICHLIE, REHDER, and ROBINSON/SEELY.
