Hello susan, I hope you are still using this website

my name is Matthew Zeigler, I am the grandson of Maxwell Michael Zeigler, who was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and died in Rochester, New York in April of 1977.
He is the brother of your grandmother, Wilma Zeigler.

I dont have much information that you don't seem to already know, there is a brick wall in the information when it comes to that side of the family. {apparently way back in the 1730's a group of 25 Salzburger Lutherans arrived in present day Orangeburg area with the Zeigler name among them}.

my grandfather and your grandmother were the children of Willie I. Zeigler and Mazie Belle Wiggins (who had some significant mental problems, she used to tie our grandparents to the bed and whip them, leave them in dark rooms and other crazy things like that) my dad also tells me that when he met Willie, who was about 30 years old (Mazzie was alot younger)before he had Wilma or Mike(as my grandma refers to her husband who died 3 years before I was born), anyways my dad went to a SC family re-union once he said it was eerie, Willie at this point in his early 70's was sitting on the porch with a shotgun, mumbling something about "niggers".
Anyways I have about the same amount of genealogic info as you, Willie's father was Louis Percy, I had Lavie Percy Zeigler obviously some sort of typographical error.
(as you kow Willie married again to an Annie and had three kids Wilson, who was murdered, Larry and Linda Zeigler.
Louis Percy Zeigler was married to a woman named Idella Jennings.thats where the Zeigler line becomes obscure.

Mazie Belle Wiggins' father's name was Laurence Hood Wiggins
and her mother was Shelley Weatherford. Laurence H. Wiggins' father was John I. Wiggins and his mother's maiden name was Sweatman. Shelley Weatherford's father's name was either Birch or Buck Weatherford. I can't find the source of documentation from where this came, i've got no dates but I think these come from my grandma Zeigler's memory, and they are written in my family's genealogy book.
so Jennings, Wiggins, Weatherford, and Sweatman, it appears are Zeigler forebears are more English then German(or Austrian).
