Floyd L. Zellers
Born March 24, 1917 - Died February 12, 1999
Floyd L. Zellers, 81, of Dahlgren, died at 10:05 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 1999, at his daughter’s residence in Mt. Vernon. He was a farmer and retired from Glenn McCormick Sawmill in Wayne City.
He was born on March 24, 1917, in Dahlgren, a son of Frank and Grace(Gage) Zellers. On September 14, 1939, in McLeansboro, he married Betty Zellers, who died on December 4, 1997. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Dahlgren and was deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for about 40 years before the church closed.
He is survived by a son, Glenn Zellers and wife Pauletta of Dahlgren; three daughters, Dorothy Laughmiller of Narrve, Pennsylvania, Juanita Phillips and husband Sam of Mt. Vernon, Phyllis Bruce of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett Zellers of Dahlgren, Merrill Zellers of Bloomington, Illinois; and a sister, Ruth Loftus of Jupiter, Pennsylvania.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
