It is possible that the name Zent is an abbreviation of Zentner. I do know that many of my great aunts and uncles have often said the original spelling was Zendt but I have not found that in any of my searches as far back as the early 1700's. All records I have show the spelling Zent. I have been told by the older family members that we were of German ancestory. Again, I have not been able to verify that. I can't seem to get back any further than Pennsylvania. Thank you for your reply and if you have anything to add with this information, I would appreciate it.
