My name is Sarah Anderson but my maiden name is Zepnick. I'll write here what I know about the Zepnick's. Other surnames that are on this side of the family for me are VanLaanen (Dutch), Mirsberger (German), Woelfel (German), Doms (Dutch). The name Zepnick is Bohemian. My father is Donald Zepnick b. 03/06/1936. Donald's father is Alfred Zepnick b. 11/16/1900 in WI d. 08/23/1954. Alfred married Marie (Mamie) VanLaanen in 1925. Alfred's father is Wenzel Zepnick b. 1864 in Austria/Bohemia/Germany (depends on the document you look at) d. 12/03/1937 in Seymour, WI. He came to the U.S. in 1869 at the age of 4 or 5. Wenzel married Elizabeth Mirsberger (b. 11/03/1870 - Wisconsin or Germany, I'm not sure which; d. 06/25/1933 in Seymour, WI). Her parents are Lorenz Mirsberger and Margaretha Woelfel- both born in Germany. The Mirsbergers settled in St. Croix County, town of Rhine, Elkart Lake, WI area. Wenzel's father was Joseph Zepnick b. 1839/1840 in Austria/Bohemia/Germany d. ?. His wife's name was Theresea - still don't have a last name or dates. Their children's names are Anna, Wenzel, Fransisca, and Maria (?). all were born in Bohemia except for Maria. They came to the U.S. in 1869 and I have a copy Joseph's declaration of intent filed in Calumet Co., WI in 1882 that lists the port of arrival as Baltimore, MD. I have yet to go to the historical society to look at the passenger list though. so, that's what I have. I would like to add more to it. Can anyone help?? Thanks!
