Dzien Dobry Lyle,
Someone sent me a message that you have the Zerla's listed, so I took a look at it. I noticed a few errors. I hope that you don't mind me reciting them. (See my Pedigree chart in Myfamily.com)
I believe that the Zerla living in Maryland was born in Borno. I talked to him and my cousin Alan also has talked to him. (Alan and I have both recovered from Prostate cancer. It is on the Zerla side).
You left out Antonio's parents Battista and Giacomina Bonariva. They and their other offspring connect us to many other cousins. (Maybe the Richard Zerla in Modane, France and the Riccardo Zerla in Buenos Aires) I have heard from Richard Zerla's brother Hubert in France. He sent some photos, and gave me his father's birthdate. I am trying to get a connection, but have asked the wrong person to help me. I will change that.
In our grandfathers' family, there were also a set of twins and a single child who did not survive childhood, so there was a total of 8 children.
I believe that all five brothers came to PA at one time, as Battista was gone for about 12 years. That is the time span between his daughters and his son Antonio. Antonio's offspring are our age.
Francesco died in Pa and is buried at Robinsons Run Cemetery. There is a large head stone. My parents went to Detroit in 1925, I believe. My maternel grandfather is buried a few yards from Francesco, but without a marker. My uncle(Adam in Pittsburg, who is 91 now, didn't like his father).
Fascinating that you know where your grand mother was born in Belgium. My great grand mother Louise Notet was born there somewhere!! (1852)
