Hi,

Do you think your Ziemanns were from what was then Prussia/Germany and today is western Poland? Were they Catholic? My Ziemann ancestors came from or near what was Posen Germany, but today is Poznan Poland. They attended St. Alphonsus Catholic church in Chicago. Records for marriage and birth at St. Alhponsus have been copied by the Mormons, and they are happy to let non-Mormons view them. I have done this myself. There is no preaching involved. It might be fruitful to obtain the St Alphonsus records and search for the names of your family members. I recall seeing something like Carolina when I had access to the microfilm a year or so ago. If this really confuses you, let me know. George
