Thanks to Jan Bathurst, I have this obit. Any further information on the following family would be greatly appreciated

Deceased Name: JOHN A. ZIKE, 77
GRETNA, LA. - John A. Zike, 77, of Gretna, La., formerly of East Brookfield, died June 21 after an illness.

He leaves his former wife, Bernice Zike; a son, John Zike of New Jersey; a daughter, Kathi Martin of Hawaii; two brothers, Vincent Zike of Connecticut. and Richard Zike of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was born in East Brookfield, son of Anthony and Alice (Gregson) Zike. He lived in Louisiana for over 35 years. He was educated in East Brookfield schools, and graduated from North High School in Worcester. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and later was active in the Naval Reserve for many years.

After the war, he worked as a tree surgeon in the states of Virginia, Indiana, Missouri and Louisiana.

Mr. Zike later worked as a postal worker in Marrero, La., for more than 20 years, retiring in 1980.

A funeral service was held Friday in the Mothe Funeral Home in Gretna, La. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer, at the convenience of the family. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., North Brookfield, is directing arrangements.
