The variations of the same surname Zilionis,Zilenas,Zhilin originated about 300 years ago from a lake Zhili in Oshmena,Belarus. My greatgreatgrandfather Zhilin was described in "The prisoner of Caucasus" by L.Tolstoy.Some members of this family are described in Lith.and Russian encyclopedias. They must be my relatives,because my grandfather mentioned them.Some our relatives emigrated and assumed French surname Gelinas.I made up a gen.table only of descendants of my greatgrandfather Jonas.Jonas' brother had a son Kostas and granddaughter Zilionyte-Smitiene which was a soprano of Kaunas Muzikos Teatras. One or two brothers of Jonas emigrated to China.My grandfather also was Jonas.His three brothers emigrated to England. A big gen.table of another Zilionis' branch is made up by
