Hi, Tracy! There is a good chance your Phillip Jacob Zink and son Joseph connect in with the Jergens family.Just the spelling of the name Phillip – with the double-L – reflects the same spelling as the Phillip Jergens with two daughters who married Zink men.
Our Jergens line, as it may apply to your family, goes like this:Andrew Jergens, born in Germany, emigrated to the U.S. circa 1818; settled in Cincinnati, married a German girl, name unknown, had at least one son named Phillip.Phillip married Mary Stephens, had four daughters, and later moved to Dayton, OH (where they had more children).Their daughters included Helen, who married Jacob Zink; and Mary, who married Joseph Zink.
My mother, who is a Jergens, wrote a family history essay that I can send to you directly via e-mail.This essay is full of names and dates, including birth and death dates for Helen and Mary Jergens Zink.Mom is still very much alive and has bunches of Jergens relatives living in the Dayton area.If needed, I might be able to find someone who could answer a question or two for you....
Sincerely, Elaine Watson Schenot
