There are several spellings of the name Zug,Zucck, Zuck, Zook, Sook the reason being most could not read or write and when the census taker came they spelled the last name the way the thought it was spelled I'm A Zuck who married my Staley line and They spelled Staley 7 or 8 different ways and they all go back to 1720 York Co., Pa to Jacob & Catherine Staley. I go to Abraham Zuck born Aug 18, 1792 Pa his father Abraham Zuck born 1750 Greene CO., Pa his father Peter Bachman Zug born 1733 Switzerland his father Ulrich Dierstein Zug his father Hans Zug.
So thats how the different spellings of the last name.
