My gggrandfather was born 10 Feb 1828 in the Dutchy of Baden under the rule of William the Grand Duke of Baden. He left on 10 Feb. 1852 by way of Havre de Gras, a port in France. His ship entered the port of New Orleans on the 14 April 1852. He became a naturalized citizen on 27 Oct. 1852 in the State of Illinois, Peoria County, by Jacob Gale, county clerk. His wife's first name was Anna, surname unknown. Peter and Anna are buried in Kelly Cemetery, Illinois. Peter died 3 April 1889.
