My grandmother was Leopoldina Schatz, b. 1857, daughter of Anna Zorn and John Schatz of Glitt, Duchy of Bokowina (Bukovina)- Austria Hungarian Empire, depending on time part of Russia, Austria and now Romania.
Leopoldina md. Edward Wlaschin (Vlasin) in 1880 in Glitt, and in 1886 they emigrated to US with other families, Schatz, Wlaschin, Kunzmann, Zorn, Landauer and other Bokowina families.
It is believed these Germans were originally from Platinate and migrated to bukowina in early 1800's with other German families, and later left when area de-germanized.
These families came to US and migrated 1866-1895 to Ellis Kansas, Yuma Colorado, Wisconsin, Mason city, Iowa, and then to Nebraska in search of places to have farms.

We know little else, would like to identify ancestors of Anna Zorn and John Schatz.

Thanks, Ken stillinger
