Your posting has me curious. I am researching my grandfather's family and his last name was Zorniak - they also were from the Austrian-Hungarian empire, specifically from the Naklo, Premysl area which was right next to a border and so changed hands many times from the Ukraine to Poland, etc. My grandfather was born in 1891 and his name was John Zorniak or Yvan. Possibly a connection?
