Found in July 25, 1902 issue of Melrose Beacon, Melrose Minn, Stearns County, Minnesota, the following news item:
News was received here recently of the death in Zug, Switzerland, of Dr J Zuercher, at the advanced age of nearly 82 years. He was grandfather of Alfred, Mary, Oscar and Alex Zuercher of this city. The doctor died July 3.
Alfred Zuercher lived in Melrose, Minn as a pharmacist and owned the drug store and a fine Victorian home. His brother Oscar wrote the exam for pharmacist in 1902 as well, according to one of the news items from another issue that year.
