Hi Sue, there is a link between you and me...and hopefully by putting it out in this forum we will find more links.

We are connected by the same G-G-Grandparents: Christian/Geo Zwirn and Fredrika Strobel/Strebel, Germany. Those names were from Death Cert and newspaper Obits. They had 5 children. My G-Grandfather, Gottlieb Zwirn, b10-18-1842,d1921[m Caroline Baseler} was a brother to your G-Grandmother, Caroline Zwirn b 1-23-1858 Wurttemburg Ger,Immirated 4-27-1877 to Watseka, IL, d 3-30-1933 Christian services at St. Paul Lutheran, buried at Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, IL. She married Henry (Henrikus) Cassens 12-10-1877, b (?) d 3-30-1933, burial service and place, same as Caroline's. The other siblings were: #3: Friedarikie Zwirn-Maves, b 1852 Ger, Immigrated 1869, d (?) in Golden, IL; #4: Pauline Zwirn-Rey b 1859, Immigrated 7-31-1880, M Andreas Rey 12-31-1880 Ford County, IL, d in Echo, MN (I believe she lived for sometime in CA) #5: Christine or Christian (M/F ?) who came to the US or stayed in Germany...I can't recall what my Dad told me or if he was knowledgeable about the last sibling.

From a newspaper Obit that I have on your grandmother Caroline Zwirn (with a pic of her) her children were Hindie Volk, Carrie Kolaski (this one could be Caroline), C. George b 1890.d 1964 m Imogene Williams 1945, Anna Wilhemina b 1888, d 1955, m Thomas McKiernan; John G Cassens. b 1884 ,m 1923 in St. Louis to Minnie Child Brewer; & Walter Gottlieb b 1898, d 1968, all of Peoria and Henry b. 1896 d 1984 of Golden, IL.

I have some info on thier children but need more. Is there anyone else that may be connected?
